“Been coaching/ assistant coaching/ volunteering for 5 years across ages 5-15. I am now volunteer lead at Headlanders and help other people get into volunteering just like I did! My favourite thing about coaching is playing a part in players’ development. Being a coach, gives me the privilege and pleasure of meeting incredible young ladies and watching them go from strength to strength in their netball and developing as young people!”

“Been coaching for 1 year but been volunteering for 2 years. I started by assisting with first steps training sessions and then started to coach the first steps team. My favourite thing about coaching is the opportunity it creates, it creates the opportunity to meet new people, develop players ability and see the progress throughout the season and how far they have come. It’s so lovely to see the children develop new friendships throughout sport and continue these friendships outside of the club.”

My journey begun as a youth player where I developed a love for the game and transitioned into coaching where I have had the privilege to develop players at various levels. My favourite thing about coaching is fostering a positive and encouraging environment that promotes personal and team growth. It’s amazing to see every player develop their unique strengths and potential and create a love for netball and the community we have at Headlanders.
